After seeing recent T20 matches between India and Sri Lanka, I could not but infer the role of luck in T20 matches. Jump a little higher, run a little faster, bowl a little slower, and the game changes. Though it is a slug fest, there is little finesse to be appreciated, unlike test cricket. Both matches, both the countries could have won. It was not cricketing skill that was a differentiating factor. The fact is we cannot feel happy that one country won, because the game could have gone either way.
Many sports have this, especially when scoring in basket ball, or heading the ball in football/soccer, but there is typically a recovery factor. May be someone will do a study to determine, that in T20 matches luck matters more than in any other sports.
